Run S Health on Samsung Rooted Device

Hello all,
Hope everyone is doing well with their life and love.
I have a Note 3 and probably all of you have it, or more so, you are holding a new device on your hand from this very moment. For some of us, who really can't get enough of their devices, the first thing that come to our mind is to have an administrator rights on it, or in a simple word, "Root" it. This is true however with me, The first day i had my Note 3 (exynos SM-N900) was very excited to root it, despite hearing a lot of rumor that you will brick your device if it is still locked to region or has a region lock in it. Yeah, like most of you, i was very afraid to root it, so i read a lot about rooting it and how would it affect my phone if it still region locked. So, the first thing that came to my mind is to find a way to unlock my device, remove the region lock in it and i must admit i successfully did it, not to talk about the money i spent to call overseas or internationally for 15 minutes, which i usually do, you know, family man :), to unlock it. It was by far the simplest and easiest way to region unlock it. Read my blog on Region lock away your Phone and you will know the steps on how to do it. Then i decided to finally root the damn thing, though i know, that it will trigger my knox or void the warranty, i told myself, what the hell! Our country by far doesn't recognize international warranty, if you know what i mean. They just simply tell you, " oh we are very sorry, your phone is not covered here, you need to send it back where you bought it". Out of frustration you will just turn around and say, "WTF"  and this is big BS... But you can't really do anything about it, just find a phone tech and everything will be alright.

So, there it goes, i rooted my phone, warranty is void, i don't care, but what i didn't know is, there are some samsung apps that won't just work if you root it. One of the apps i found not working with rooted devices was the S Health. For some of you who really doesn't know what this application can do, it can be a big help. S Health by its name, can monitor your health, all you have to do is create a Samsung account if you don't have one, or if you have just fill up the information that is necessary for it to monitor your health then you are good to go. Select the options on how you want to apply it, exercise mate, walking mate, your eating, etc. But i find it hard running the application when i rooted my phone, i really don't want to temporarily unroot my phone and root it again afterwards. So i decided that i will lose that damn application. But something deep inside me was telling me no, just disable it and let it stay there.

So i went on reading, finding ways to run the application, I guessed, i tried all of the ways, but there are ways that didn't work for me no matter how hard i have done it. Or maybe it is just me that really didn't get the right way to do it. So here are the steps on how to run it.

Option 1.
OTA RootKeeper by SuperCurio
I am using this application when i have my SIII before, then Note 2. This by far is truly a big help for me. For some application that do not work in rooted phone, you can use it to temporarily unroot your device and root it back afterwards without flashing from your recovery. it will also help you to protect and create a backup of your SuperUser rights or the SUBinary.

How to.
1.  Click the link above to download the application,
2.  Install it to your rooted phone and run the application.

You will notice that this application will give you the information about your phone, you can see if it is rooted and you can find the tick box saying temporarily unroot.
3.  Tick the box and reboot if the application ask you to do it.
4.  Run S Health.

I want you to all know that this doesn't work for me, but may work to you. And if it doesn't then, we are not unfortunate either, cause there are still some ways to run it.

Option 2.
Root Cloak  by Senior Member of Xda-developers.com Devadvance
To know more about what this powerful application can do, head over to the original forum here.
To learn the ways on how to do it, follow the op's procedure on how you are going to do it.
Of course you can't run the application without installing Xposed Framework by our good friend, Rovo89. I have it in my phone, and 5 modules are installed right now and working great. So head over to the original thread and expose the greatness of your phone by Xposed here.

Please take note that i tried the application but since it only supports HTC and it doesn't say in the op that S-Health is part of apps that needs testing, and i assume it will work, unfortunately it didn't work for me either. Hope that this will work on your device.

Option 3.
Unroot your phone.
This method will most likely remove all your roots or superuser rights.
How we can attain it.
1.  download a stock firmware.
2.  flash it to your phone using odin (any version)
3.  reboot your phone, and set it up.
4.  run S- Health.

But you can see, option 3 is by far the useless method, why would we remove our root when we already have it. One application can be sacrifice if all other apps need it.  And why we would like to root our device if in the end we will just remove it? That is really unnecessary.

Don't give up, that is what we always say to ourselves. Try again if you don't succeed on the first times, yeah, times, because we have done it too many times.. :)

And so by not giving up, i found another way or shall i say a work around that really helps me to run the application.

Option 4.
Make S-Health a normal application.
We will be needing these applications to run it.
> System App Mover by J4Velin
> Wanam xposed by Wanam (head over to the original thread to find out more.

Alright, let us start.
1.  Download Xposed Installer from the link given to Option #2.
2.  Install it. and from its settings tap install update.
3.  reboot your phone.
4.  Download Wanam xposed and install it.
5   Activate the module (Wanam xposed) from Xposed Settings > modules by ticking it.
6.  Now, tap wanam xposed module and head over to its setting>Security hacks.
7.  Tick Fake Status, since your phone is rooted the status of it is Custom, by ticking fake status, your phone status will be changed to official.
8,  Reboot your phone.
9.  Download System app mover and install it to your phone.
10.Open the application and let the supersu grant it root access to your phone.
11.Wait until all of the applications are loaded and select S-Health.
12.Tapping it will give you an option to convert it to normal application, Tap it.
13.The application will convert S-Health to normal application and remove it from system application.
14. Once successfully converting it, the phone will ask you to reboot it, go on and reboot it.
15. Once you finished rebooting, you will find out that S-Health was converted to normal application. Now Tap it open, input your information, if you want to back up and restore go ahead, all you have to do is enter your email address, Now enjoy the application.

Please take note, that the application will also ask you to update your S-Health application to run, just update. and this application will also tells you to uninstall updates before you can really convert the system app to a normal application.

some of the screenshots to help you out.

Please also take note that all of the option are based on my experience, and sometimes, they are not guaranteed to work with your devices, so please don't blame me if this doesn't work on your device cause "if you decide to do it, you are already taking the risk" . There are some consequences on our decisions and action, we don't need to blame others if it fails, but we need to tap our own back and smile if it is successful.

If you found out that this Steps are helpful to you, please share it to others, and you are free to link it here if you like to..

God bless you all.
Keep the faith.
Smile for the world will smile back at you.

Take care everyone and Thank you.

Regional Unlock Your Note 3

So you have been busy playing with your new device? Your eyes is popping out because of the features that your device have. You can't even describe the feelings you have inside. You've noticed that your fingers don't want to rest from sliding the home screen left to right, right to left, up and down. And at the end, all you can say is wow!

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a high end device, which comes with octa core (exynos) and quadcore (snap dragon), which also comes as LTE and 3G. And really is filled with features, functions, applications, and and S-PEN that gives spices to all the well being of the device. Take note of the Camera features and functions too, which is really cooked and made just for you. To Sum it all up, it is almost as perfect as it is, but, just like many of us said, " there is no perfect device made". As for what I believe, "It would only become perfect if it suits your needs".

Like many other high end phone, Note 3 has its own imperfection. Samsung Introduced region lock on Note 3 and Other Samsung devices like SIV. Though for Samsung it is not considered as imperfection, but for most users this concludes imperfection to the unit. Note 3 is regional locked and sometimes, sim locked. It would only mean that the device is useless on other countries except for the countries it was locked into. We can add to the fact, that, you can't use sim from country which is not included to your region. Say, you bought the device from Mid East and want to use an Asian Sim, sorry folks, this will not happen not unless you do something about it. Many of us users are asking as to "Why Samsung made this Steps? The only explanation we have so far is, to curtail the Grey Market Sales. Do Samsung ended up victorious on this step? We will know in the next couple of days, months, and year, but up until now, we haven't seen any effects of this with the Grey Market. Samsung in any way, is protecting their valued customer, but for some this is not the right move by Samsung, as most users are having confusions and having doubts whether they would buy the device or not because of the region lock.

So if you travel a lot, and you are planning to use Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as your daily or travel device, You may want to look and follow the Steps to unlock it.

There are 3 Options on Unlocking your Galaxy Note 3 Devices. Follow the options and you will be fine.

Option 1 (without rooting and Easiest Method)
>> By Placing a Call (voice) for about 5 to 11 minutes talk time.
This method is confirmed and by far the easiest method of all. Turn Off your mobile device and place the sim you acquired from your network and Switch on your phone. Start placing a call from your phone (voice), don't use viber, skype or any 3rd party application but your phone's default voice call application. After 11 minutes of voice call, try to insert a different sim from different country and see what happens. Some user said, that it doesn't matter whether it is outgoing or incoming call, once your phone accepts or make a call, your device will be registered to your network and regional lock or sim lock will be removed.

the below image is a confirmation, taken from note 3 itself. You will notice that the signal now is R for roaming. We have used  a Sim from Philippines, the Phone itself bought from Saudi Arabia.

If you are unable to region unlock or sim unlock your phone, go to your nearest Samsung Service Centers and ask them to unlock it for you. We just don't know if it requires a payment for the kind of service.

Option 3 (Root your Phone and Region Unlock it)
>> Region Lock Away (Chainfire-Xda)
This method requires rooting your phone. If you don't know how to root it, You may refer to our best friends "Google & You Tube". There are far too many methods now to root your phone. But one thing to expect is some of the rooting method will trigger your knox to trip 0x1. This would only mean that you will lost your rights for replacements or free service (Warranty). But if you are not afraid, go ahead and lose that warranty and root your phone. After all, you'll gain a lot on doing it. But please always remember to back up everything before you do it and if you take the risk, don't blame anyone if you made a mistake.

Steps
Root your phone
Download and install Region Lock Away
insert different sim and open Region lock away application and tap unlock.

if you find the application useful, support the guy buy him a beer. :)

New Mobile Alarm App lets you dedicate unused Computing Power to Scientific Research

There is a new mobile alarm application from samsung in collaboration of University of Vienna that will let you dedicate unused computing power during sleep.

What is the application all about?
According to Sam Mobile, which is trusted site by millions of Users World Wide, Samsung has collaborated with researchers from the University of Vienna in creating a new mobile alarm app called Power Sleep that lets you donate unused computing power to scientific research. By using this utility, your mobile’s CPU cycles would be pooled together to create a “supercloud computer” that is accessible to researchers all over the world.Power Sleep is made by Cheil Worldwide in conjunction with the Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Vienna for Samsung handsets.

Where can we download and when it will be available?
This free utility will be available for download starting later today from both Google Play and Samsung’s own store. All Samsung devices running Android 2.3 and higher will be able to run this utility.

How they started it?
It was also quoted that Mr. Cheil of University of Veinna saying, that Power Sleep was designed to make it easier for individuals to collaborate their unused resources. “There was this amazing technology out there, which was unfortunately still unknown to the vast majority of people. We realized that the greatest barrier to usage was, paradoxically, the existing technology’s excessive ‘techi-ness’. So we focused on one question – how do we make it easy for a wider crowd to embrace and participate in a crowd-sourced donation platform?”

So How this really works.
All you have to do is set an alarm while going to sleep. After you’re asleep, the app uses your smartphone’s CPU cycles to compute data, and the finished calculations are then sent out to the research lab’s servers, with file sizes usually under 1 MB.Researchers at the University of Vienna then collate the collective database of small calculation series from participants all over the world. The data is turned into an open-sourced protein-calculation database that can then be used by the scientific community to find a cure for diseases like Alzheimer’s.

So what can you say folks, should we try it, and help millions of people?
